as you can tell, i’m a sucker for lyrics, too.

this is the most beautiful, poetically emotive song i’ve ever heard. but i do have to admit, it’s heartbreaking.
i give it two thumbs up though.

I just heard the song for the first time yesterday. It totally hit me, so I started writing down all the words that I could. The killer part is that had to live out the song today. I was wearing the white dress, but he was with someone i hadn’t seen before. And he did make sure I saw him.

The end of the second-to-last stanza is actually:

it’s NOT “you so care…”

this song was made for a dramatic scene in the next heartbreak love story movie. I can see many guys who have lived this song in the past. Solid melodies combined with emotional, pleading lyrics.

I heard this song on XM radio the other day, just looked up the lyrics and bought the track today.

This song so expresses exactly how I feel right now.

Move over U2’s “With or without you”. This is one of the most beautifully haunting and heartwrenching songs every composed. The lyrics are so simple, but so powerful, and if you’ve been there, they really are haunting.

On a side note, it kind of helps to see that I wasn’t the only one going through this, and I’m glad someone was able to put it into words.

That song hits me straight through the heart. It has made me realize that what I did in the past was awful and to be more faithful from now on.

it’s been more than 10 years. Am I going to a concert? Am I going to BUY a cd? I woke up on the couch and had this song in my head. I grabbed the remote and rewound like 90 minutes of videos and started watching them one after another until I found this song. Unbelievable…. how does something this perfect get created by humans!

Needless to say this song is heartbreaking. And I’m sure that anyone can relate in one way, shape or form. as for me the lyrics holds true. Caz all thow I have a girlfriend who love me to death and she’s my whole world. But because of drama from my and her ex’s we can’t tell any one about us just yet. you as you can just imagaion what we feel when we’re out at clubs and there’s nothing that we can to when one of us is getting hit on.

For some reason parts of this song vaguely remind me of Hemingway’s The Sun Also Rises. I enjoy it thoroughly

this song is so heartbreaking as much as i didnt want to listen to it, after listening to it it reminded me of my first true love for more than 3 years and it was amazing but later everything just crashed downhill… I was just broken after the breakup and yet i still wanted him back but we just can’t be together b/c i don’t want him to break my heart again. *sigh*

So I am reading over these comments here, one after the other, and just as I suspected, everybody loves this song for the same reason…Everyone has felt this way at some point in their lives, and thats the very essence of what makes a great song. Going out on a limb here as an incredibly picky “music snob,” this song is amongst the very great poetically, emotionally written songs in my personal favorites category. And I wouldn’t say that lightly. The closest it has to come to, too stir this type of emotion in me is Roger Waters’ Amused To Death album, Floyd’s Final Cut, or Nathan Moores- I saw Her. Those are big shoes too fill ya know! I thought the line “Your friends say you look like you just saw a ghost,” was tearing me down when I first heard it, then when I heard the line “You don’t care what you look like your world is falling down…..” and on and on simply left me feeling shipwrecked in my emotional wreck of a past. POWERFUL lyrics, hard to come by, good delivery, even harder! Thanx guys! C.

I recently started seeing the woman who is the love of my life, we were apart for 14 years, I got married and tried to forget her but never could, I have thrown everything away to be with her, and it’s been rocky, I played this song for her and I could see the tears well up in her eyes. She did this to me, and I to her. We have all lived this beautiful song at one time or another, good job guys!

I still think it says “You so care what you look like” not “You just don’t care…” It’s an exaggerated, sarcastic use of “so.” I don’t hear anything that sounds like “don’t” in that lyric at all.

the first time i heard this song, i never really paid attention to the lyrics. i thought it had a great beat, but it wasnt until the second time i heard it that i decided to look up the lyrics. so i played the song as i learned the lyrics and it just completely blew me away! i can relate to this song in many ways. greatest song ever!

I love the fact that the song has no chorus, no bridge, no catchy hooks, and yet it still has commercial potential. The closest thing you get to repetitive structure is “You just have to see her” 5x over at the end of the song.

This is one of those songs that pull you in so deep that you lose track of time. It’s as if you’re within the moment with the guy, and you’re linked to every emotion tearing him apart.

I’ve probably listened to this song 50 times today (after buying it, of course), and still it brought a tear to my eye just minutes ago.

I heard this song the frist time at 4:30 in the morning after my alarm radio came on. I was woken up from a semi-sleep state with the music and lyrics ringing in my mind. I had the chills running down my spine and all over my body. What a powerful song this is. It took me nearly 3 weeks to hear it again in a mentally alert state adn find out what the name of the group adn the song was. The second time around was an awakening of itself. Parts of it were so powerful adn the emotions deep and heartfelt. More than any other song I have heard since listening to Evanescence’s My Immortal for the first time. I haven’t been able to get enough of “Sometime Around Midnight” yet. I know I will eventually but for now, I will put my iPod on repeat and listen to it, burning the words into my heart forever. I was on my way home from Columbus to Cincinnati when I first heard this song on the radio. I had to pull into an I-71 South rest stop to keep from balling my eyes out while driving.

This song really hit me where it counts. I’ve been in-love once in my life, and was told by her afterward that IF I had fought for her things would have gone differently. Instead I let her walk away without so much as a word. Months later she was with someone else and I was left still picking up the pieces of my broken heart. Such is life though.
